Ocean Springs Harbor Dredging and Jetty

Seymour Engineering was hired by the Jackson County Board of Supervisors to handle dredging of the Ocean Springs Harbor and later to add a Jetty. The dredging work consisted of permitting, surveying, and dredging approximately 25,481 cubic yards of dredge material. The Jetty was added to help reduce the amount of sandy silt coming into the harbor. Both projects were completed in 2009 and cost a little under $700,000.

The Jackson County Board of Supervisors hired Seymour Engineering to dredge Dry Dock Basin. The worked consisted of permitting, surveying, and dredging approximately 270,000 cubic yards of materials. This project was completed in 2009 with a final construction cost of $7.2 million and funded by the Community Development Block Grant Program.

Bayou Porteaux Dredging

Seymour Engineering was hired by the Jackson County Board of Supervisors to dredge Bayou Porteaux. The work consisted of permitting, surveying, and dredging approximately 30,000 cubic yards of material. This project was completed in 2009 and cost a little over $700,000.

Moreton Bayou Dredging

The Jackson County Board of Supervisors hired Seymour Engineering to take the lead on dredging Moreton Bayou. The work consisted of permitting, surveying, and dredging approximately 30,000 cubic yards of material. This project was completed in 2008 and costs nearly $1.2 million.

Hurricane Isaac Navigational Channel Restoration
Jackson County, MS
Hurricane Isaac caused a number of channels to become filled with sandy silt and in need of dredging. Seymour Engineering was hired by the Jackson County Board of Supervisors to take the lead on these projects. These projects were funded by FEMA and many are still in the process of being completed. Completed channels with completion year and approximate construction cost are below.

Bayou Porteaux and Poreaux East Prong Dredging
Completed in 2014 costing nearly $800,000.
